CELINE × Reebok: The Freestyle Gets Its Luxury Moment

The most talked-about shoe at Paris Fashion Week Men's SS27 wasn't a limited Air Jordan or a hyped New Balance collab. It was a Reebok Freestyle — pre-dirtied, pre-scuffed, dressed in lambskin leather, and walking the CELINE runway.
Michael Rider presented his debut menswear collection for CELINE on Sunday 28th June 2026, and buried inside it was a quiet bombshell: the brand's first sneaker partnership. Ever. The collaborator? Reebok — a choice that feels both unexpected and completely inevitable once you see it.
The Reebok Freestyle is a women's low-top that debuted in the 1980s. It's sporty-casual, unassuming, and deeply archival — exactly the kind of reference a new creative director reaches for when he wants to signal taste without shouting. Rider dressed it in pre-dirtied, pre-scuffed lambskin leather uppers, added a co-branded tongue bearing the archival Reebok Classic logo, and sent it down the runway in three colourways. The effect is studied nonchalance — the sneaker equivalent of a perfectly broken-in blazer.
It appeared on the runway twice: once in an all-black look with tailored wide-leg trousers, and again in an ivory ensemble with a fluid coat, the blue zip detail at the ankle catching the light as the model turned. Both moments felt considered. Neither felt like a product placement.
There are six CELINE × Reebok Freestyle styles in total. The first batch drops in September, with further releases planned through 2027. For Reebok, this is a continuation of a strong run in luxury fashion — the brand has previously worked with Maison Margiela, Botter, and Noir Kei Ninomiya, and maintains its own elevated line, Reebok LTD. For CELINE, it's a first — and a statement about where Rider intends to take the house.
The Freestyle was always a shoe about freedom of movement. Under CELINE, it becomes something else: a study in how luxury handles the everyday. Not by elevating it beyond recognition, but by wearing it in.
