Micro-bags have been threatening to become completely useless for years. Burger King has finally finished the job.
Le Nugguette is a tiny, crumb-coloured handbag shaped like a chicken nugget. It has a top handle, a miniature BK logo and room for almost nothing—which, in this case, is the entire point.
Each one comes with a charm based on one of four sauces: Buffalo, Honey Mustard, Sweet & Sour or Special Savory. The charm looks like a tiny sauce packet because somebody involved understood the assignment.
The bag costs $3.99, the same as a four-piece nugget order, and includes a code for the actual nuggets. One hundred are being released each day in the US from 12 to 16 September.
Is it fashion? Barely. Is it an excellent piece of fast-food theatre arriving during fashion month? Absolutely. The French name and little silver initials push it just far enough into handbag parody.
Sadly, it is a US-only drop. Happily, the image alone has already done a lot for me.
Verdict: no notes. Only sauce.
