There was always going to come a point when beige activewear exhausted itself.
GANNI x lululemon is the correction: a 22-piece collection of leopard print, ruffles, leg warmers and boleros made using Lululemon’s technical Nulu and Softstreme fabrics.
Inspired by 1980s dance films, it includes GANNI-fied versions of familiar Lululemon pieces alongside bodysuits, leggings, sweats, footwear and accessories. Flashdance star Jennifer Beals appears in the campaign with singer and dancer METTE.
The collaboration works because neither brand disappears. Lululemon provides genuinely functional clothing; GANNI prevents it from looking painfully sensible.
Its proposition is simple: joy is functional, leopard is neutral and your workout clothes need not suggest that your personality has been left in a locker.
