Patta x Crocs Classic Clog held in one hand

Crocs do not need another collaboration. I know this. You know this. Patta has apparently decided the answer is to make one that actually earns its place.

The Amsterdam label has taken the Classic EXP Clog—the tougher one—and given it a cream desert-camo upper, a black webbing heel strap and a properly grippy Vibram sole.

That sole changes everything. It makes the shoe look less like something you put on to take the bins out and more like something capable of dealing with a wet field, a festival or a London pavement in February.

Then come the Jibbitz: a red hourglass saying “TIME’S UP” and a brick wall carrying Patta’s “TEAR DOWN THE WALL” line. They are not subtle. Crocs have never been improved by subtlety.

The desert camo is the clever bit. It keeps the whole thing oddly calm while the charms shout from the roof. Release details are still emerging, but the shoe has already made its point.

Verdict: sport mode has become expedition mode. I’m listening.
